From the Supply & Trading department of the largest Refinery in the Mediterranean to the sand dunes of the Moroccan desert, to test his limits in one of the world’s toughest sports competitions. Marco Pajusco, 33 years old, from Verona, a marathon runner since he was 23, completed the Marathon des Sables, a sports event whose proceeds go to charity. This is a crossing in full food self-sufficiency of the Sahara desert, in all its various aspects, from dunes to stony mountains, up to the great dry lakes, through the territory of the desert nomads and traditional villages.

Thanks also to the context in which it takes place, it is a wonderful, unique human adventure in which sharing and solidarity become the driving force to achieve new, ambitious goals. The competition is linked to a foundation with head office in Morocco which takes care of the education of disadvantaged youngsters, above all through sport and games, helping them to discover their hidden potential. The greater part of athletes’ registration fees goes to further this project.
