The boys of the Accademia Ogliastra and Kosmoto Monastir were the winners of the tournament held at the Assemini sports centre, the seat of Cagliari FC, on Sunday 8 May. But the great celebration took place on Saturday 14 May when the budding champions took their prizes at the Team’s stadium from the hands of team captain Daniele Dessena and Sarlux (Saras Group) Chairman Francesco Marini.

Just before the beginning of the Cagliari-Salernitana match, which to the joy of team supporters marked the return to series A for Giulini’s team, 30 children aged 8-10 years received a plaque of the Saras Trophy, held for the second year running. The prize went to the teams that stood out among those of the Football Academy of Cagliari FC, a project of which Saras has been main sponsor since its inception.

At Assemini, on 8 May, forty 7-a-side matches had been held, each lasting 20 minutes. In the morning the play off phases were held: 6 rounds formed of 4 teams on the pitches Prima squadra, Primavera, 9-a-side synthetic and the grass pitch used by the Junior Sector. Then in the afternoon came the matches between the second, third, and fourth classified, before the final phase: the pitch “Italian Champions 1969-1970” hosted two qualification matches for the final for first and second place. The match between Accademia Ogliastra and Kosmoto Monastir ended in a 0-0 draw and, with the agreement of the team coaches, it was decided to shoot a series of symbolic penalties. Then both teams were declared winners.
