Cargo Shortage 360, safety at sea
In keeping with its constant focus on safety and environmental protection,
the Saras Group has taken part in the international meeting ‘360° Cargo Shortage’
organised by JP Shipping in partnership with Inspectorate Italy,
a quality control and process certification company.
During the conference, leading companies in the commodities trading sector
discussed the themes of safety and management of the maritime transport of petroleum products.
The meeting, held near Cagliari from 25 to 27 May, was an important forum
for knowledge sharing and professional development for all participants.
Professor Filippo Lorenzon (lecturer in Maritime and Commercial Law at the University of Southampton)
covered the determination of quality and quantity in the petroleum product transportation process.
The Sarlux managers responsible for this sector delivered presentations on safety and regulatory aspects.
Besides featuring representatives of leading petroleum marketing and transportation companies,
the meeting was also attended by representatives of government agencies,
local authorities, maritime and port authorities.
Seminar participants were able to visit the marine terminal of the refinery,
one of the largest and most technologically advanced oil refining operations in the Mediterranean.
This is the first time Sardinia has hosted a meeting
among representatives of the leading oil traders to discuss safety and the environment.
