Coastal erosion, conference on an innovative study
On 7 June, the sala anfiteatro in via Roma, Cagliari, will host the final conference of the N.E.P.T.U.N.E. project (Natural Erosion Prediction Trough Use of a Numerical Environment).
The aim of the project is to protect the beaches of Sardinia, many of which are affected by worrying erosion, mostly caused by human activity. The project tested a new method of study through innovative cooperation between Sardinian universities and SMEs. The project team includes the Coastal and Marine Geomorphology Group, the Department of Chemical and Geological Sciences of Cagliari University, the Cooperative Sardegna Protetta, and the Società Battellieri Cagliari.
The conference, hosted by journalist Ottavio Olita includes as guest speakers the Mayor of Cagliari Massimo Zedda and the Rector of Cagliari University, Maria Del Zompo.
