Cyber security: agreement between the Postal and Communications Police and the Saras Group
We have long been committed to safety and sustainability; this includes the security of our information network.
Our Group is currently implementing a programme to strengthen it.
Tackling hacker attacks, cybercrime, cyber terrorism and the theft of sensitive data
so as to ensure a high level of security for the local economy,
which is increasingly dependent on computer systems.
These are the objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding, the first at regional level,
signed between the Cagliari Postal and Communications Police and the Saras Group.
The agreement falls under the National Plan for cybernetic protection and national cyber security which aims to strengthen the defence capabilities of key national infrastructure and of players having strategic importance for the national system. The agreement fosters at regional level the alliance between the public and private sectors in the prevention and combating of cybercrime.
The aim of the MoU is to strengthen collaboration and share procedures and useful information
so as to increase the capacity to prevent and combat computer crime,
which in Italy is the task of the Postal and Communications Police
with the National Information Centre against Cybercrime for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CNAIPIC).
In practice, the collaboration will start from the sharing and analysis of relevant information
to prevent attacks or disruptions that could jeopardise the security of the IT infrastructure,
and will subsequently be expanded to include alerts concerning vulnerabilities,
threats and incidents affecting the efficiency of telecommunications services
and identification of the origin of attacks on technological infrastructures.
