Distance Learning #Sarasforschool
During the lockdown, the Saras Group and Anpal Servizi developed the Soft Skills and Orientation Paths using distance learning tools.
The Saras school projects for 2020, which started at the beginning of the year with the customary talks in schools, visits to the Sarlux refinery and thematic workshops, introduced this innovation to give students the opportunity to pick up from the work done over the previous months and complete it using new platforms and tools.
Distance learning
The aim of the #educational paths is to introduce high school students to the core values of corporate culture.
The project, launched with five high schools in Sardinia – Istituto Scano in Cagliari, Asproni Fermi in Iglesias, ITI in Tortolì, Loi in Carbonia and Gramsci in Tonara – involved 150 students, 30 from each school, who received overall 60 hours of educational activities in various forms: talks in the schools, visits to the Sarlux refinery and thematic workshops.
In the months of March, April and May, the project continued with online workshops, three very successful digital meetings between the students, the schools’ teachers and the Group’s managers, addressing the issues of workplace safety, sustainability, and company management and organisation.
The meetings also provided the students with career guidance on entering the labour market or the choice of university education.
Interesting feedback
The distance learning sessions offered Saras an excellent opportunity to collect the impressions of pupils and teachers. Here are some of their comments.
To the question “which aspects were you most impressed by” some students answered:
I was impressed by the strong focus on safety, the consistent use of PPE and the concept of safety culture.
I was also happy with the regard and attention given to us students.
The best out-of-school experience, I’d been waiting for it since I was in third form.
One teacher commented:
I was struck by the students’ feedback, as they describe the company with the same words with which it was described to us in this experience, and the same words used by many of my friends who work here. What I mean is that in this project I have not perceived any propaganda, but simply the description of who you are, and I thank you for that.
