Enterprise in Action and RaIn – Tell me about Innovation
Continuing a tradition of fruitful collaboration with schools, mainly through work placement schemes for students,
The Saras Group has participated in the new ‘Business in action’ programme,
in collaboration with the Association Sardegna 2050 and in support of the national Junior Achievement network.
Under the programme, developed in early 2018, we mentored the pupils
of two high school classes, to help them start up mini-enterprises. The students were involved in dynamic activities,
including group work, simulations, video lessons, forms and tests.
They also had regular meetings with our experts, during which even complex topics
were covered in a simple and hands-on way to encourage and support the start-ups created by the youngsters
from the business idea to the business plan, all the way to production, sales and marketing.
At the end of the activities of the ‘Business in action’ programme,
on Wednesday 23 May, the final session of the regional competition was held.
At the Mediateca del Mediterraneo in Cagliari, 33 high school classes, comprising almost 600 students,
vied to convince the judges’ panel of the value of their business idea, exhibiting their products and services,
talking to the public, answering the judges’ questions
and showing their video-pitches on their mini-start-up.
The winner of the competition was Class III C of the Tortoli ITC High School with their product InBookHouse,
an online platform for the sale and exchange of schoolbooks and students’ notes.
The class will participate in the national competition scheduled for early June.
Second and third place went respectively to the students of Oggiano School of Siniscola and to those of the Giua Institute of Cagliari.
The prize-giving ceremony was held at the Teatro Massimo in Cagliari, with prizes offered by the Saras Group and the Confindustria Giovani.
The fourth edition of the contest raIn -Tell me about Innovation was also held on the same occasion.
At the Teatro Massimo, the president of Sarlux Francesco Marini awarded the prize to the best of the 33 video-pitches
produced by the classes participating in the “Business in Action” programme.
This year, the top prize of the competition went to mini-start-up Ogliastra 360, by Class IV A of the Tortoli ITI School,
which produced a digital and paper map of tourist sites in Ogliastra.
