Organisation and management of industrial systems
As part of its long-term partnership with Cagliari University, the Saras Group has participated, together with other important industrial and business players, in the seminar of the degree course in Mechanical Engineering ‘Industrial System Organisation and Management’.
We have long cooperated closely with the University of Cagliari on research projects and to help train highly skilled specialists.
The seminar is part of the career development and support services offered by Cagliari University’s Mechanical Engineering course. It is an introduction to the organisational structure and the production process management methods of modern industrial plants.
The seminar, organised by teachers Daniele Cocco and Pier Francesco Orrù, was aimed at students of the three-year degree course and master’s degree in Engineering, and was also attended by 50 new members of the Register of Engineers, who attended it as an introduction to workplace organisation.
During the two-day seminar dedicated to the Saras Group, managers and engineers of Sarlux and Sartec described to students and new graduates organisational and management problems, work methods, the role played by engineers in companies and, above all, the new frontiers of research and innovation.
The seminar was introduced by a presentation of the Saras Group. Next, the focus shifted to Sarlux, with description of the #digitalSaras programme and asset management initiatives, the new frontiers of predictive maintenance and the role of engineers within the Sarlux organisation.
The second day was dedicated to Sartec, describing its context, strategy and organisation and the role of engineers in the company.
Sartec’s technological research areas were described extensively, including mechanical integrity, plants, packages and skids, artificial intelligence and predictive maintenance.
The day ended with the personal story told by a Sartec engineer and with tips, by a Saras Group psychologist, on how to make the leap from university to the labour market.
The scope of topics covered testify to the passion of the Group and its people for transmitting skills, experience and prospects to the new generation that will drive technology and innovation in industrial Sardinia.
The Saras Group is one of the main European oil refining operators, and is also active in the electricity generation sector.
