Saras Cup
The Saras Group and the Cagliari Calcio Academy work together on both sporting and social projects, sharing the goal of developing many young athletes in Sardinia for whom sport must represent, first and foremost, an important training ground for life.
The Cagliari Football Academy unites 42 football schools in Sardinia, combining play, cooperation, commitment and training. A project with initiatives, events and sharing of training courses that involves over 4,000 young people.
At the end of the sports season, the Saras Cup was played in Asseminello, the training ground of Cagliari Calcio.
Sixty athletes competed in a three-way tournament that saw the youth teams of Cagliari Calcio, Sarroch and a selection of the best players from all the Academy teams compete in turn.
The Cagliari team won first place in the tournament, while the Best Player award was given to Cristiano Marotto of the Isili Academy, with everyone receiving a medal as a memento of their participation in the event.
This initiative, carried out together with the largest sports club in Sardinia, allows us to achieve what we identify with: creating value.
Loyalty, a spirit of collaboration, altruism, teamwork, are the values that sport expresses, giving the opportunity to play football, being part of a team that recalls the name of Cagliari as well as giving great happiness to the kids helps them to grow, to create the society of the future and if not all of them will become champions, they will still carry these values within them.
Saras, with its activities and with the repercussions that it originates in many sectors, even those different from its own, has always created social, cultural and cognitive value.
