Saras Group and Cagliari Football Academy for the culture of sport
The Saras Group , a well-established international conglomerate, was established and grew in a land with a strong identity: the island of Sardinia.
That’s why we promote initiatives and projects supporting the local communities, their cultural heritage and their needs, with a focus on young people.
The Saras Group is engaged in projects for schools, universities and sports clubs.
We have renewed our support as main sponsor, for the next three years, of the Cagliari Football Academy and we took part in the press conference held on 31 July 2018 at the Sardegna Arena, which introduced the new director of the Academy, Bernardo Mereu.
The Cagliari Football Academy, run by the Cagliari Football Club, brings together 40 football schools in Sardinia and mainland Italy, combining play, cooperation, development and training.
This project involves 5,000 children with many initiatives, events and joint coaching programmes.
At the press conference, in addition to speeches by Cagliari Calcio managers, Simona Berri, head of Legal, Corporate and External Communications, spoke for the Saras Group: ‘This initiative, a joint project with the largest sports club in Sardinia, allows us to do what we believe in: create value. Loyalty, cooperation, mutual support and teamwork are the values embodied in sport. And I should add happiness. Giving young players an opportunity to play football and being part of a team belonging to the Cagliari Club can make them happy and help their development. We are building the society of the future and while not everyone will become a champion, young people will carry these values with them for the rest of their lives”.
Investing in young people
Sport promotes a sense of fairness and positive values, builds team spirit and a social and educational culture focused on excellence.
This is why the Saras Group shares with the Academy the educational values of sport, to help the young people of Sardinia to flourish, not only as sportspeople but especially as the well-rounded women and men of tomorrow.
Sports, recreational and cultural initiatives protect young people from negative influences which might disrupt their development.
Through sport, youngsters learn the key rules of social life and fundamental values such as tolerance, team spirit and loyalty. Sport fosters integration.
As part of its joint initiatives with the Academy, the Saras Group plans to organise several events promoting social advancement, environmental sustainability and energy saving.
