Saras meets with the future mechanical engineers
Saras introduced itself to the students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, during the cycle of seminars “Organisation and management of industrial systems” held on Thursday 23 March in the Main Lecture Hall of Via Marengo, in Cagliari. Five Company representatives covered several different aspects of business and work organization. The seminar opened with an introduction by Giordano Serafini, head of the Supply Chain Management area, who outlined the nature of the Group, which operates in a vast and highly competitive market, that of petroleum products. He described this independent company and its operational model set in the global context, but he also addressed its strategy and strengths, including an asset – the Sarlux Refinery at Sarroch – with flexible plants able to process different types of crude and hence able to diversify its supply sources of raw material.
He was followed by Ivo Cicerelli, a senior specialist in the Energy Technologies/Utilities/Off-sites service, who described some projects to improve reliability and performance, while Davide Pisano addressed the theme of resource and demand management and of water cycle management at the Sarlux site. Last, Stefano Aymerich presented the Group’s project management and in conclusion Rossella Ligios and Luisa Pittau, from the HR Office, spoke of the role of engineers in the organisation and gave suggestions on boosting employment opportunities.
