Sarlux certified under ISO 50001 by RINA
A key milestone towards efficient energy use in our operations
Sarlux, the Saras Group’s refinery, obtained in 2018 the ISO 50001:2011 certification by RINA, a leading certification body for conformity assessment in Italy.
Our Energy Management System (EMS), which meets the requirements of international standard ISO 50001:2011, guarantees the availability of suitable tools to regulate operating methods and responsibilities for efficient energy use in all industrial processes, under different operating conditions and in different configurations.
Compliance with this scheme also enables us to increase knowledge and awareness of sustainability issues among all our stakeholders. The scheme provides a framework for setting targets for the continuous improvement of energy performance, in line with our company’s legal requirements and energy policy.
‘With ISO 50001:2011 certification, Sarlux confirms its commitment to responsible and efficient energy management and its policy of using Best Practices as a fundamental business tool. ‘We are particularly happy of having obtained the certification, after careful, competent and thorough assessment by the RINA certifiers, a certification that is both a goal and a starting point’ – was the comment of Sarlux CEO Carlo Guarrata.
‘The ISO 50001 certification process we managed for Sarlux was undoubtedly an interesting challenge for us at RINA too, since we consider sustainability a key cross-cutting asset. We have found a technically complex and well-structured operation, which manages smartly and carefully its high energy demand, showing robust competence in the field of energy’ – said Emanuele Castagno, Executive Vice President Certification at RINA.
