Sarlux community involvement
September is a month of new beginnings.
The new school year has just started.
What hasn’t changed is our community involvement:
we continue to support local initiatives promoting social,
economic and cultural development.
A bridge between schools and businesses
In the past few years, the link between the company and schools
has strengthened and developed: it grew from guided visits to plants
to ‘guided tours’ of the world of work and company organisation.
Our programmes have been hugely successful,
we have hosted about 500 students in the past three years.
The secret of this success? We have tailored the Work experience programmes
to match each school’s type and syllabus,
ensuring they complement the students’ classroom learning.
We share with students the knowledge and technical skills built
in over 50 years of industrial activity,
to support their growth and help them play an active role in the labour market and in society.
The projects ‘Learning about business’ and ‘The company comes to the classroom’
have not been restricted to vocational school students:
classical and scientific high schools too have visited us.
Other projects include the Chemistry Games for high schools and participation
in the Researchers’ night organised by Cagliari University.
We have encouraged innovation with the prize ‘RaIn – Tell me about Innovation’,
a competition that invites high school students to make a video
on the new technologies and ideas that will transform our future.
We also support the teachers and students of the comprehensive school at Sarroch: in 2016,
we launched a pilot project supplying students with tablets in order for them to use e-books.
