Sarlux: ISO 50001 certification renewed by RINA

Sarroch (Cagliari), 18-07-2018.Sarlux- Gruppo Saras.Impianti nord.Sala controllo aromatici.

Our commitment to energy efficiency in our operations has been rewarded

In July 2020 Sarlux, the Saras Group refinery, obtained renewal of its ISO 50001 certification, the standard for implementing and maintaining an Energy Management System (EMS), as revised in 2018.

The renewal of ISO 50001:2018 was issued by RINA, Italy’s leading conformity certification body.

Operating under the new standard enables easier and more effective integration between the various management systems, through the implementation of the High-Level Structure (HLS), now common to all ISO standards.

This confirms our ongoing commitment in pursuing the key principles of EMS, such as the continual improvement of energy performance and the involvement of all company staff, by assigning them roles and responsibilities, in achieving energy targets and verifying and measuring results, in order to identify subsequent continuous actions.

Energy consumption is an environmental issue to which the Saras Group pays great attention, especially with regards to its industrial operations at Sarroch.

Sarlux has long been attentive to its ‘energy footprint’: it developed its own energy policy many years ago, and in 2018 it obtained ISO 50001 certification for its Energy Management System (EMS).

We use these tools to develop, based on a detailed analysis of our operations, our energy targets and goals, the related performance and monitoring indicators, and the projects and plans to be implemented to improve efficiency, steadily reduce energy consumption and protect natural resources and the ecosystem.
