Synergies with the education system
The Saras Group promotes initiatives and projects supporting the local communities, their heritage and traditions, because we are convinced that development of our business must go hand in hand with development of the territory in which we are based.
We pursue this goal, among other things, by promoting an entrepreneurial mindset through educational initiatives aimed at high school and university students, to foster social development through the themes of work, sustainability and economic growth.
University
We have long cooperated closely with the University of Cagliari on research projects and to help train highly skilled professionals. This is why our holding company Saras regularly renews a memorandum of understanding for the exchange of know-how to promote scientific and technological innovation and encourage young graduates to stay on the island.
Sarlux managers and engineers share their scientific and technological know-how through activities such as: seminars, internships, degree dissertations and lectures. We also offer internships in Sarlux, post-graduate masters and scholarships for deserving students.
High Schools
In recent years we have cooperated with the Ministry of Education’s Work experience scheme. Between 2013 and 2018, more than 550 high school students have crossed the gates of the Sarlux site, to get a closer look at the workings of a large industrial company.
Sarlux technicians and managers hold conferences and seminars on the topics of safety, the environment, production processes, ICTs and company organisation, exploring the themes of Industry 4.0 and innovation in the refining industry.
We also organise competitions where students can develop innovative ideas and try new technologies.
Sarlux has been supporting the local school system for many years. We supply the Middle School in Sarroch with textbooks given on loan and then, in line with the culture of sustainability, donated to other institutions, but also tablets and computer rooms to prepare students for the digital future.
