The Cral Saras awards merit scholarships
Great satisfaction for the award of merit scholarships by the Saras Workers’ Club to the children of the company’s employees who were especially successful in school and academic year 2017-2018. The initiative, organized by Cral President Antonio Durzu, fosters a merit-based mindset that will serve well young people when tackling the world of work.
A total of 35 scholarships were on offer in 2018. The only award criterion was merit: average mark across subject higher than 7.5 in the first four years of high school, diploma with a minimum of 98/100 points for final year students or three-year degrees and master’s degrees with a minimum of 98/100 points. The marks gained by the winners were outstanding: 100/100 for diploma holders, 110/110 for the holders of both degrees. While students in years 1 to 4 had average marks above 8 on a scale of 10. The students could rightly be proud of these results.
The scholarships were presented at the Sarroch town library by the managers of the Sarlux refinery and Saras Group Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Dario Scaffardi, who congratulated the young winners and expressed the hope that excellence in their studies would pave the way for future success. Sarroch’s Mayor, Salvatore Mattana also spoke to support tomorrow’s ‘stars’ and commend the initiative, which also rewarded many young people from Sarroch.
