The place to be
The Saras Group’s activities for schools have resumed, taking the form of an inspiring programme of lectures, workshops and tours of the Sarlux refinery and Ulassai wind farm.
As part of the ministerial PCTO (soft skills and orientation paths) programme, the Saras Group welcomed students from Cagliari’s Buccari-Marconi High School to an intensive programme of lectures and guided tours of the facilities.
Technicians and managers from the Group covered topics of an industrial nature such as safety, the environment, energy efficiency, production processes, maintenance processes, ICT and others to demonstrate their way of working, and to convey what is useful for entering the labour market.
“
What I found interesting was the company’s commitment to sustainable development, through its numerous investments in this area, while remaining competitive in the European and global markets. And I was struck by the way that all the people working at Saras work together to arrive united at one goal.

The sustainability aspects of the Sarlux site’s production processes were explored in depth through the good electricity generation practices that increasingly improve the ecological footprint of all the processes.
During the visit to the Ulassai wind farm, the pupils were able to appreciate the Group’s development and transformation path, which, with the right approach geared towards the landmark goals of the ecological transition, increases energy generation from renewable sources.
“
I believe that giving pupils the opportunity to see work environments related to their chosen course of study first hand is a very useful step to start building their future after school.
